Dynamics 365 Business Central Outlook integration allows users to work directly from their inbox while staying connected to ERP data. By connecting D365 Business Central with Outlook, users can pull real-time customer and item details straight into their inbox. This seamless flow boosts productivity by letting you work where you already are—your email. With just a few clicks, a polished sales quote can be generated and sent to the customer directly from Outlook.

Navigation & Setup:

  • In the Business Central search bar, type and choose “Get the Outlook Add-in”.
  • Click the 1st link in that page to download the essential add-in files as .zip and extract all of those. Then, follow the 2nd (do the authentication steps which is needed) and 3rd

  • Once chosen the ‘Add a custom add-in from file’ option, choose the essential add-in XML files we extracted earlier.

Choose the ‘Contact Insights’ file and click ‘Install’ button to include this add-on.

Now, we can see our add-in has been included successfully (as mentioned below.)

Follow the same set of process for ‘Document view’ file.

  • Try to draft a new mail and navigate to ‘Insert’ tab.
  • Under ‘Insert’ tab, you can see an option called 'Apps’ and choose Business Central from it.
  • Using ‘New’ action, we can create and send different type of documents directly from outlook which increases productivity. (Here, we are choosing ‘Sales Quote’).

  • Click ‘View existing contacts’ as highlighted below.

  • Choose the contact for which you have to create sales quote. Use the three dots above to choose the option ‘Create Sales Quote’.

  • Provide the essential line-item details like item no, quantity. Click the three dots above and choose ‘Send by Email’.
